In an effort to develop, implement and administer its plan to improve underperforming public schools, ABR accepted charters from the Louisiana Department of Education to operate three schools beginning July 1,2008 and two additional schools beginning July 1,2009. ABR did in fact operate three of the schools in the 2008-09 school year.
