Recruitment, Referral and Linkage: This service allow staff to canvass high HIV priority communities to recruit community members that may been in need of services and resources that are not readily known to them. Staff will recruit these individuals and make referrals and linkage to those supportive services. Staff also provide prevention materials as an integrate part of our prevention efforts.

"Be Safe" is our Harm Reduction initiative which takes a holistic approach inclusive of Clean Syringe Access and Sharps Disposal, education and linkage to rehabillitative and supportive services. Clean injection equipment is used as an outreach tool. Staff reaches out to the injection drug using community to provide them the opportunity to change or modify their drug using and sexual behaviors which places them and their partners at risk of acquiring and/or transmitting HIV and other bloodbourne diseases.
The Positive Charge Initiative is apart of a nationwide "Access to Care" Project funded by AIDS United and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Through a holistic approach at addressing the return to care and for those newly diagnosed, linkage to care. The Patient Health Navigator identifies those individuals that have been loss to care and reconnect them to care. The Patient Health Navigator with the help of the clients identify those barriers that contributed to them following out of care and address them. The Patient Health Navigator also acts a mentor and provide the client with the assistance to keep them in primary medical care.
The Retention In Care Initiative focuses on formerly incarcerated HIV positive individuals. The program is design to provide our target population with the tools to enhance their quality of life and reduce recidivism. The components of the program are employment readiness, employment search and job placement. Clients also will be offered GED Prep by a retired teacher with experience teaching in a Correctional setting. This program addresses the substance abuse and/or mental health issues that accompany individuals living with HIV/AIDS through individual and group counseling by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Clients will have access to a Patient Health Navigator that will help clients identify and address those barriers that may prevent them from remaining in care.
In October 2013, C.A.R.P., Inc. was designated a Certified Application Counseling Organization by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid to assist the community in navigating the Healthcare Marketplace to find affordable healthcare insurance.
